2017 ARRL Field Day Club Campout

Come visit us at the Group Campsite at McGregor Lake Campground. On the last weekend of every June, more than 35,000 radio amateurs in the US and Canada gather with their clubs, groups or simply with friends to operate from remote locations.

This year, our FVARC chose the group site at the National Forest Service's McGregor Lake Campground, 32 miles W. of Kalispell on Hwy 2.

2017 Club Picnic

Our annual club picnic will again be held in the covered picnic area at Lone Pine State Park, on Saturday, August 19, from 1PM to 4:30PM.

Hot dogs, burgers and bottled water will be provided; otherwise, everything else is pot luck. We could use chips, beans, cookies, etc. Feel free to bring your own meats, etc. to cook on the BBQ. Please confirm with me as soon as possible your attendance, the number in your party and what you’d like to bring.

Ham radio is the best emergency and safety network available
and will be used locally as well as world wide in the event of
any disasters, natural or man made.
Study books will be available at the first class.
You will need to register for the class to get a book by calling
Don Johnson WR7DW at 406 889 5886
No class of license requires Morse code, and the technician test is just 35
questions multiple choice. You can get 9 questions wrong and still pass,
and during the study you will be given all the answers up front. You can
also study on line at www.QRZ.com
The license is free for 10 years, then renew on line for another 10 years.
We will have equipment on display and there will be demonstrations of
various equipment. Eureka Repeater Group sponsoring the class has
many local repeaters covering all of Lincoln County and into Flathead
county, and much more.
Be prepared to increase your safety by having communications available in any
emergency situation at any time day or night with these systems.

2018 Montana QSO Party

Unfortunately, we find ourselves without a coordinator to handle this year's Montana QSO Party. Life's demands required that Lyndel, N7LT, create some 'spare' time for other priorities and he reluctantly asked the club to find another coordinator.

While we weren't able to find such a person in time for this year's QSO Party, we do fully intend to return next year and thereafter; so, please look for us in 2019.

The club would like to take this chance to thank Lyndel for his years of service to the club and for the many years he spent managing the QSO Party.

Rick, W7YP
FVARC President

2018 MONTANA QSO PARTY CANCLED THIS YEAR!!!

There have been a number of inquires about the 2018 Montana QSO party to me directly via email. Earlier this year, due to other commitments, I notified the club that I could not do the QSO party this year. Since then, no one offered to take over so there will be NO MONTANA QSO PARTY THIS YEAR!

Hopefully somebody will take it over for next year. It's all set up to go, all you have to do is some paperwork and send out the certificates after the contest. I'll be glad to pass the documents over to whoever wants to run the MTQP in the future.
