Club Field Day at National Forest Service's McGregor Lake Campground
This year's ARRL Field Day will be held on the 25th and 26th of June. We've reserved the group site area of the park from Friday afternoon to Monday morning. Many club members will begin setting up there on Friday afternoon and will be bringing their RVs and staying there through the event. There's ample room for many RVs as well as tent campers; so, I invite club members to bring their RV or tent and join us. Everyone, including the general public, is welcome to visit during the event.

82nd GLACIER/WATERTON HAMFEST
The 82nd Glacier/Waterton Hamfest will be held July 15-17, 2016 at the Glacier Meadows RV Park.

Club Picnic
The FVARC picnic will be held on Saturday, August 13, starting at 1PM at the Lone Pine State Park. We have reserved the picnic pavilion from 1-5PM. Hamburgers/cheezeburgers will be provided. While not required, it would be most appreciated if attendees would bring some kind of chips, desert, salad, beverages, etc. and contact me, W7YP, via this website to let me know what you'll be bringing. I would also appreciate confirmation of attendance by those who will be there who haven't yet informed me of their planned attendance. so that I can ensure an adequate supply of burgers and buns.

HAM RADIO CLASS FOR TECHNICIAN LICENSE
A class is being offered in November for the Technician class license. The class will run two Saturdays in November, on the 5th and the 12th. The hours will be from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on November 5 and 9:00 am to 2:00 pm on November 12. The class and testing will be held in the conference room on the second floor in the Whitefish Depot. The address is 500 Depot Street, Whitefish.
The testing session will be held immediately following the finish of class on November 12 at 2:00 pm (approximately). TESTING WILL BE OPEN TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO TEST; TECHNICIAN, GENERAL OR EXTRA. Testing fee is $14.00 and if you are upgrading your license we will need a signed copy of your current license.
We will be using the Gordon West, Technician Class 2014-18 FCC Element 2 Radio License Preparation 8th Edition. We highly recommend that you get your book before hand and study! We have books available and they are included in the cost of the class.
Cost of the class is $35.00. If you have your own current Gordon West book, we will deduct $21.00 from the cost of the class. PRE-REGISTRATION FOR THE CLASS IS REQUIRED! Please contact Leo Yudysky at lyudysky@centurytel.net or by calling 863-2680 and leave a message.
